Location and Dispatch 

LocationSmart uses GPS technology to pinpoint the location of your vehicle, wireless data technology to communicate the information to @Road data centers and the Internet to give you complete fleet management from your desktop PC.

Monitors vehicles 24 hours a day, providing regularly scheduled updates, and shows location of entire fleets or a single vehicle on easy-to-view, zoomable maps.  Provides location of nearest vehicle to an address, landmark or nearest cross streets,  Stores and forwards location information when vehicle is outside the wireless coverage area, Allows vehicles to be easily routed and re-routed, Records and stores out-of-area vehicle movements, Allows simultaneous access by users at multiple locations.

Messaging 

With LocationSmart two-way text messaging, your dispatcher and your drivers are never out of touch. The dispatcher can send route change or other instructions to any vehicle quickly and accurately. The easy-to-read message appears on the vehicle’s iDT2500 data terminal within the driver’s range of vision, and a text message can be returned. The system can even leave messages for later viewing when the driver is not in the vehicle. LocationSmart’s convenient two-way messaging provides many advantages:

Application Program Interfaces

The @Road Application Program Interfaces (api's) will allow partner software applications to:

Receive current or last reported location for one or more vehicles, Receive a list of 'close' vehicles to a specified location/location range, Send and receive landmarks information, Send and receive text or form messages to and from one or more vehicles 

@Road Application Program Interfaces will be based on industry standard XML interface via a request and response mechanism to allow seamless integration with partner applications. @Road will also provide interface templates to partners to facilitate rapid adoption and easy integration with their applications.
